David Bradley

Throughout his nearly 20 years as a theatre director, educator, writer and non-profit arts manager, David Bradley has focused on ways individuals, organizations and groups can apply creative processes and strategies to tell their stories, effect growth and change and build community.

David has designed and led workshops and seminars on leadership and creativity for Main Line Leadership, schools and educators in the Philadelphia region and the Philadelphia Arts Education Partnership and has led panels on art, education and community around the country and in Mexico. He has created projects that have told the stories of The Reinvestment Fund (a national leader in community development), the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard, Benjamin Franklin, and towns in rural Pennsylvania. He is currently Artistic Director of the Living News at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, a project which explores current constitutional issues through performance and interactive curriculum, and is also an adjunct professor at Arcadia University.

For 15 years David has been a member of the artistic company of People’s Light and Theatre in Malvern, PA, serving as Associate Artistic Director from 2002-2006. He has directed more than 20 productions at People’s Light, and while Associate Artistic Director was part of the Theatre’s artistic leadership and jointly led Project Discovery, the Theatre’s arts education program, which has been honored for its work with youth and community by the White House, the NEA and the NEH. At People’s Light, he was instrumental in launching the Theatre’s Family Discovery Series, conceived and directed major projects bringing together artists and community members, was part of the Theatre’s Long Range Planning Committee and was a principal writer for the organization. He also served for five years on the Theatre’s Board of Trustees.

David has been profiled in Real Philly magazine and in 2002 was named one of Main Line Today’s "40 Under 40". He graduated magna cum laude from Yale University, and lives in the Mount Airy neighborhood of Philadelphia.
